What do you think of when you think of the underground? Dark, wet, close, claustrophobic? As above-ground animals, humans miss so much of what goes on below the surface.
Welcome to Through The Roots, a traveling, site-specific installation inviting you into the network of interconnected roots, mycellial threads, mineral veins, and animal tunnels that form life underground. To those that live there, the underground world crackles with life and energy. Glittering beads and textured handspun threads connecting roots far overhead invite you to imagine this world.
Through The Roots changes to fit each space it occupies. Individual elements shift to fill the space and connect in unique ways, making each installation a work of art in it's own right.
